“The relationship between form and function has always been evident to me through hernias. When form is disrupted so is function and the opposite is also true. There are few conditions that lend itself to such a dramatic and immediate improvement in one’s overall appearance and sense of well-being than the surgical repair of a complex hernia. The strategies for repair require a deep understanding of anatomy and lends itself to elegant solutions. Nothing challenges me more and nothing I do in surgery gives me greater pleasure.”
Dr. Laker recognizes the importance of a collaborative effort for complex medical/surgical issues and works together with a number of specialists to ensure the best and most appropriate management of his patients.
